two frames + a quote

"And I pray that you no longer seek happiness from the past, but rather you set your sails forward, to a land that is pure and wonderful. I pray that you no longer stare into the shallows of empty promises, but that you dive into the depth of an ocean of guarantees. May you feel the winds of hope, smell the scent of joy, may your heart be alive again, as it was meant to be. For you are with a better captain, you are a true sailor, a true leader; You are sailing with Christ, and He is always sure to lead us home."
- T.B. LaBerge // Go Now

(this space has been pretty empty of late, but i promise i have a really good explanation. i spent an entire week in yellowstone national park + grand teton national park without any wifi connection and then i started school two days after we came home, and i had family come in for the weekend, plus spending a day with my bestie. basically, i have 2,300 pictures to wade through + edit, but man, life is beautiful.)

happy birthday to my bestie! | a video

to my dearest amy, my kindred spirit, my diana.
my words will never be antiquate enough to say the things my heart feels, but i'm going to try.

it's been almost nine years since we've met, and in those nine years, i've danced. i've cried. i've laughed. i've lived. and you were always there by my side, dancing, crying, laughing, and living.
you are my constant, my north star- always the brightest and always shining.
you are the one who tells me what i need to hear, even if i don't want to hear it.

darling, you are a firework, wrapped in stories and fueled by grace.
your eyes are always searching for the pain hidden behind mask, your ears are always listening for the cries of those who can't see the lights of home anymore, your hands are always open, always giving. but your hear- i'm quite positive that your heart is made up of the essence of summer and dancing. i've never met somebody with such a full heart- full of dreams, full of joy, full of love, and so so full of life.

i wish words could say how proud i am of you, of who you've become and how you've grown, and how you are growing.
you are my brave heart, with a streak of wild and you are going to do rad things in this world.

so here's to being eighteen,
and here's to the all the adventures we are going to find, coffee we're going to drink, and conversations we're going to have.

i love you to the moon and back.
love,
marcia

((it's my best friend in the entire world's birthday today, so you should go leave her some love and birthday wishes!))

"come morning light.." | 9 am.

"come morning light, you and i'll be safe and sound."
-taylor swift ft. the civil wars

if you've hung around here for any amount of time, you've probably picked up that i have a thing for light (and bokeh). light captivates me in a way few things do. i can't help finding myself drawn to contrast and patterns, sunflares and sunspots, and golden hour.  however, usually late morning light gets passed by my eyes. it's much harsher and glaring than i prefer and i tend to brush it by and dream of golden hour.

well, one morning this week, i was on our porch hanging out some laundry and i finally found the beauty i hadn't been able to see before.

and man, was it ever lovely.
