100 Years

I love this video, except the most modern ones.. I find it very sad how things have changed. Femininity has been lost..I mean look at 1:03-1:05. So sad. I like the video though the music is weird toward the end.

random musings

You know, I have so many blessings..... I can't even count them.

The reason you are getting this blog post is because..at Options...I sprained my ankle. Like really badly..at lunch. I had to hobble everywhere afterwards, but my lovely friends did help me. That defiantly made it easier. :) Anyways..back to the post, this is that's happening in my life..and some blessings along in there. Okay, blessings first..this is just a condensed version :)

• fall
• my creative writing class at Options...it's awesome, even though I have to write 3 pages of assigned writing every week.
• cameras are awesome..just sayin'
• hola, cómo estás, I'm taking Spanish!!!
• lesson 105 in school...I'll be ready for 9th gr. hopefully by Thanksgiving!
• sunrises...I saw the sun rise yesterday morning..and it was only 6:00

Happenings:

• Loren & Meg are here
• Meg painted us a amazing personalized painting for our kitchen. (photos later)
• babysitting a 4 yr. old curly headed girl every Wednesday. =)
• school, school, and...more school

Oh..and I'm like obsessed with the song "Beloved" by Tenth Avenue North!!

And I usually don't like covers, but...this one is beautiful..I love the piano version!!

Question #28: A scar you have and its story.
Um...I have a barb-wire scar on my leg, I was crawling between the fence and the person who was holding down the barbwire accidentally let go of it and it bounced up and made a gash in my leg. I didn't have to get stitches though.
I will save you guys from a picture too..hehe actually its not bad. :)

30 Day Challenge {Day 26}

Howdy!!
I canned peaches this morning, pictures are coming soon. I did have to have a little help from Mom though.
It's been very rainy these past few days, and I am trying to get a good rain-drops photo.

Question #26: A special childhood memory

Umm....*goes back to the back recesses of the brain* (as my Bible teacher says!!)

I remember the time I got my talking doll. I was probably about 6 years of age. And I remember opening this box and wondering what it was. It came in a pink suit, and cute pink and white hat, and with a bottle that had fake milk.
 The doll was soft except for its hands, head, and feet, and if you put the bottle in it's mouth it would make noises.   It would say "Mama", cry, sleep...and something else I can't remember. I named it Annabelle, which I'm not sure why, especially since I don't like the name very much now. :]
It was a Chou-Chou doll. And here it is:

Her suit is now stained and stretched. Mysteriously, one day she had huge blue stains one her lovely suit from a random marker.
Well, there is a special memory from my childhood.

I got it off line...cause I  couldn't think of anything else to put on. :)

Cake

• 4 ounces bittersweet (not unsweetened) or semisweet chocolate, chopped

• 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
• 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• 1/2 teaspoon coarse kosher salt
• 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/2 cup whole milk
• 1/2 cup plain whole-milk yogurt
• 1 1/2 cups (packed) golden brown sugar
• 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature
• 2 teaspoons dried lavender blossoms,* finely ground in spice mill
• 4 large eggs

Buttercream frosting

• 8 ounces bittersweet or semisweet chocolate, chopped
• 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
• 7 tablespoons (or more) water

• 1 1/2 cups (3 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature
• 4 cups powdered sugar, divided
• 1 tablespoon grated orange peel
• 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
• 1/2 teaspoon coarse kosher salt
• 1 tablespoon Grand Marnier or other orange liqueur

• Chocolate curls

Happy Monday!! Hope ya'll are planning on having a good week. Mine looks like its going to be fun, but normal. Lets see:

[Options is a home school - school, that once a week we go to. Each student gets to chose 6 classes, and we are there from 8:30 AM- 3:30 PM. It's awesome. :) ]
I think it's going to be a good week! :)
