oh darling don't you ever grow up...

these were taken in October when we were in Tennessee but I am only now posting them.
my Grandpa and Grandma's place is filled with memories from my childhood. I remember I would spend hours playing in the playhouse, and organizing every piece of the play food neatly in my cupboards. We would take Grandma's broom and sweep the playhouse out and then set up the chairs to have the perfect house. I remember knocking down spider webs and even cleaning the windows. then we would be take a basket and pack a picnic and head over somewhere in the lawn to have our picnic.... I remember getting all the Berenstain Bears books and sit on the rocking chair and read them over and over. I remember running bear-footed through the grass at night catching fireflies, I remember swinging on the big swing underneath the trees. I remember going down to the orchard and picking the peaches and apples off the trees and munching on them as I wondered around. and I remember checking for ticks in my hair before I showered at night. I remember hating to go down the concrete stairs into the basement because of all the spiders that seemed to make it their home. I remember planting flowers with Grandma one summer in the front flowerbeds.

but since we moved to Colorado, we rarely visit my grandparents because it is so far. I miss all the memories. when we visited in October, I got to watch the boys play in all the places I remember so well.
it was so sweet watching them put all the food away, and go on picnics. it made me wish I had never grown up. (although, I am actually glad I did grow up >> this << is something that helped change my perspective a little :))

“They keep coming up new all the time - things to perplex you, you know. You settle one question and there's another right after. There are so many things to be thought over and decided when you're beginning to grow up. It keeps me busy all the time thinking them over and deciding what's right. It's a serious thing to grow up, isn't it, Marilla?”    -the anne girl

a thankful list || thanksgiving day

first of all, I apologize for all the food photos, especially the pie... it's my one weakness [go watch that, it is awesome] actually, I'm not truly sorry either.
Thanksgiving was amazing. It was low stress and we just had a good time.  I know it is a day late, but it's Thanksgiving isn't just a holiday. It's something that should happen every day.

kyle || 2012

this is Kyle, he is my little brother. sometimes, he drives me outta my mind, but that's what little brothers are for right? legos are his favorite thing in the whole wide world. he made his first batch of cookies all by himself a couple of weeks ago. he likes making things special, and having little parties. his favorite lunch is grilled cheese made by himself. he is growing up way to fast!

 // there was an old firetruck parked down by the pond at my Grandpa's place. my uncle was going to fix some things on it. but one afternoon, I grabbed Kyle and we went down there to get a couple of shots.
we shot until we got bugged out... the mosquitoes were awful.  //

the snowflakes start flying...

today we got the biggest snow yet. so we spent the day inside drinking coffee and tea, getting some much needed organizing and cleaning done, snapping photos, and listening to Christmas music and Owl City.
