around a farm..

while we were on our trip, we stopped at my uncle and aunt's place for a day. It was so much fun being able to be on a 'farm'. (since we live in the city)  I spent a hour outside stalking their goats, chickens, their cat and the kids. :)

just a quick update:

life has been busy. nothing in particular, just all the little things in life that stack up. 

so that is why I haven't been around very much. I have been sorting through all the pictures from my trip and there are a bunch of them which I can't wait to share with you. I will try to get them up as quickly as possible.

awkward & awesome [no.7]

awkward
- realizing that for the past week I have been writing the date as May in all my journal entries. awkward.
- being in the back of the truck inside the cap and having a guy who just crawled out of the car next to us, loudly tell his travel companions that "There are people in the back"
- bringing the wrong cord along on the trip for the laptop. I didn't know there was a difference..
- working on learning more html and css. sometimes it is pretty much like reading Greek.
- misreading my texts. we were picking up my cousins at someone's house and she was trying to tell me how to get there. she texted me that there was a little white house with a black truck in the driveway and a big barn. I read the text as a big red barn. So we are driving around looking for a little white house with a big RED barn. I finally figured out that the barn was not red.

- Taylor Swift's new album Red. Go listen to Stay Stay Stay and 22. it will make your day happier. :)
- walking into a room of people whom you haven't seen for two weeks and they all clap and cheer and I have 4 girls hugging me at the same time. that makes you feel special.
- the same group of people^
-the same group of people who called me up and let me get on speaker phone just so I could listen to the meeting I was missing.
- my cousin gave me a vintage camera for an early birthday present. it's a beauty.
- reading North & South. after I watched the movie I fell in love and decided to read the book, I daresay it is better than Pride & Prejudice. plus, the movie soundtrack is so hauntingly beautiful.
- our very first real snowfall last night!
- special talks with cousins while doing laundry, and eating chocolate with her! :)

with kiddos, 4-wheelers, and autumn leaves

this is the first round of photos from my trip....

this is a messy bunch of photos but they are so special to me. these kiddos are my cousins (and siblings). the ideas they come up with are crazy, and their smiles light up the world.

Tennessee was beautiful in the ripe autumn-ness. and the colours were gorgeous.. layered in burnt orange, rust red, brown and the million shades of yellow.

summer's last golden hour

 the sun was just setting. and the sprinklers had just finished their rounds. 

the world suddenly became a fairy land. sun flares. dancing bokeh. sparkling raindrops.

for the first time I was able to really capture the golden-ness of golden hour.

awkward & awesome [no. 6]

awkward
-trying to tell someone a joke and laughing for 5 minutes straight while trying to tell them the answer. this is why I rarely tell jokes. and why I will never be a comedian.
-being the only girl in the jury in our Mock Trial. no comment
-coming home late one night and having my makeup brush fall out of my purse with out my knowledge. and then the next day Trish brought it into me "umm... here you go, Papa kinda drove over it."
-going out to unlock the truck and entering my Abeka account number instead of the code.
-making awkward eye contact multiple times in History Detectives.
-sitting on my foot and then getting up and almost falling on my face because it was sleeping so hard.
-packing my back for our trip and opening the little front pocket to find my two necklaces that had vanished. they have been in there since may. note to self: check all pockets from now on.

-my uncle is getting married in like two days!!
-I cannot stop listening to One Thing by One Direction.. literally.
-we had our first snow two days ago. it wasn't very much and none of it stuck, but hey it was snow.
-getting to spend the day with Nicole handing out free clothes to people who really need it.
-red toe nail polish. perfection
-practicing swooning with my sister
-wearing scarves, fuzzy socks and my pumpkin pie necklace again
- crisp and crunchy apples.
- the leaves that are turning colours and falling.
-my computer came back from being fixed just in the nick of time.
